Contract Collaboration

Share contract responsibilities without transferring ownership
We've introduced Contract Collaboration to make it easier for teams to work together on contractor engagements. Contract owners can now add colleagues to a contract, allowing them to help manage contract activities or approve timesheets while maintaining clear ownership and accountability.
Why we made this change
Managing contractor engagements often involves multiple stakeholders. While one person may own the contract, others may need visibility into the engagement, support contract administration, or review and approve timesheets.
Contract Collaboration gives teams greater flexibility by allowing contract owners to share responsibilities with trusted colleagues while retaining ownership of the engagement. This creates a more collaborative approach to contract management and removes the need to transfer ownership simply to involve additional stakeholders.
What's new
- Collaborating users: Contract owners can add colleagues to help manage contracts and support contract management activities.
- Flexible access levels: Assign collaborators as either a Contract Manager, with access to administer the contract and approve timesheets, or a Timesheet Reviewer, with access focused on reviewing and approving timesheets.
- Retained ownership: Contract owners remain responsible for the contract while enabling others to support contract management activities.
- Relevant notifications: Collaborators receive tasks and email notifications related to the permissions they have been granted, helping them stay informed and take action quickly.
- Improved team collaboration: Multiple stakeholders can work together on contractor engagements more efficiently, without changing contract ownership.
How it works
Contract owners, as well as users with Hirer and Admin roles, can add collaborating users directly from the contract details page.
To add a collaborator, navigate to the contract details page and select the Access option. From there, search for the colleague you would like to add and assign them the appropriate access level.

Contract Managers can help administer contracts and approve timesheets, while Timesheet Reviewers can focus solely on timesheet approvals. Collaborators automatically receive relevant notifications and tasks based on their assigned permissions, ensuring they stay informed and can take action when needed.
This feature is enabled for all client accounts and is available immediately.
Benefits for teams
Contract Collaboration helps organizations distribute responsibilities across teams while maintaining clear ownership and accountability.
For contract owners, it removes the need to transfer ownership simply to facilitate timesheet approvals or provide contract visibility to colleagues. For collaborators, relevant notifications and tasks ensure they can stay aligned with contract activity and take action when needed.
For organizations managing multiple contractors and stakeholders, Contract Collaboration creates a more flexible and scalable way to manage engagements. Teams can work together more effectively, improve contract oversight, and keep projects moving smoothly without disrupting existing ownership structures.
