The average day rate for freelancers working in Social in 2019 was £342 per day whereas the most common rate was significantly lower at £201-£250 per day.  The top 10% of rates in 2019 was £500 per day. The average day rate has seen a significant increase from the previous year of more than 5%. Indicating the importance shown  towards those that can build a positive brand presence through social.

Emphasis that your day rate. Is negotiable - aim high and be confident but if it’s too much for your client then be prepared to make adjustments to meet their budget (within reason). Always make sure you don’t drop below the limit of what you feel your work is worth.

The average contract length for Social freelancers was six weeks (29 working days) with the top 10% of projects lasting for at least 69 working days. With an ever developing skill set required in the discipline and new technologies emerging, we expect more changes to this discipline next year.
