This is only slightly lower than the average across the entire community. Do keep in mind, the dataset includes day rates from all contracts within the discipline as a whole, no matter duration or type of business.
The vast majority of all contracted rates for Animators are between £250 and £350 / day.
The average day rate for an Animator this year is £302.
Motion Graphics freelancers average day rate is £7 lower than that for an Animator. Contracted day rates this year largely range from £200 to £400, with over 45% of all contracts being around £300 / day.
The average day rate within Motion Graphics this year is £295.
Average rates for Video Editors are very mixed, with 35% of all contracts at £250 day. There are a handful of contracts above £450 / day and up to £750.
Video Editors take on average £292 a day.
Average rates for Videography are very mixed, with most rates between £250 and £300 / day. There are a handful of contracts between £650 and £700 / day, but these are less than 10% of all bookings.
Videographers take on average £314 a day.

The uncomfortable truth is that the gender pay gap exists within Film and Motion. Looking across all roles within the discipline, men make an average £331 / day whilst women make £293 / day. This pay gap is evident across all roles within the discipline.
