Job description

As the Community management lead you are responsible for managing the UK community and developing growth and advocacy programmes. The challenge is twofold: 1) evangelist of freelancers needs and requirements to YJ, and 2) able to set clear priorities to ensure execution and impact to drive freelancer retention, expansion and product adoption.

Job duties

  • Nurture and growth of the freelancers community in the UK.
  • Create new scalable growth and advocacy programmes relevant and valued by the freelancer community.
  • Identify relevant channels to reach and connect with UK creative and tech communities.
  • Engage with creative and tech freelancer influencers to promote YJ brand.
  • Connect and onboard with new and existing rising freelancer talent.
  • Work closely with YJ talent and sales teams to match the best freelancers with clients requirements.
  • Ability to hire community developers to support with new freelancer community growth.

Knowledge and Skills

  • 3 - 5 years in Community Management, Business Development or other functions focused on growing and developing a community or user base.
  • +3 years in tech industry, marketplaces or recruitment sector.
  • Experience in launching and measuring community growth and advocacy programs.
  • Strong affinity with content creation, and managing online platforms such as Telegram, Twitter, Facebook, Medium, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
  • Passion to develop communities online and offline is a must, and technical background a plus.
  • Experience building relationships and interacting with people.
  • Ability to empathise with freelancers and quickly grasp the issues they are facing.
  • Self-starter and proactive, can take initiative and are comfortable scoping, driving and executing on initiatives.
  • Fluency in English.
